So I think this is one of my all time favorite shoots.. mainly due to having a model who I know really well and a great location. My friend Annalise Bush has recently signed with [Valley Road Entertainment] management company for her music and is about to be on her way to the big time. She will be playing music under the name [Aprilemade]. We recently also recorded an acoustic song that should be release shortly as well. As part of her starting up, I took her out on a photoshoot to get some good photos to use for her music and these are what ended up coming out of the shoot. As you saw in the preview, Annalise is a great model and pretty much posed herself and found the best location ever.. the rest was easy. Hope everyone enjoys these as much as I did taking them.

Okay.. so I can’t stand it. I shot these photos just a couple days ago and they are turning out awesome. I didn’t think I would do a preview but I just couldn’t stand it and thought I’d just post one (maybe two..) photos from the shoot. Annalise is a great model cause she pretty much does whatever I say and ends up posing herself half of the time and looks great doing it. She’s recently signed with management and is going to be working on some songs and recordings soon.. but I will post more about that in the full post. For now, check out a couple. PS.. Annalise found this location and I couldn’t be more happy with the location. So thanks Annalise!

LINVEY | Apple on the Tree – Music Video

A few weeks ago I had the privilege to shoot a video for a new up and coming artist LINVEY. Back when he was recording his latest full length LP, I gladly ended up playing drums on most of the songs so I was familiar with his music before this video. Was cool getting to hear the demos I played drums to come to life with all the guitar parts and vocals. Among the songs on the album, “Apple on the Tree” is one of the more acoustic poppy songs and RJ wanted me to come shoot an acoustic performance lo-fi style video for him. Been a LONG time since I last posted a song.. but today I am here to post the latest with Macy Maloy! Loved getting to work with her and this song actually started out as an all acoustic recording.. and we were close to being done when I decided it needed to be a full band. I think it turned out great and of course Macy is incredible and has got an awesome voice. Let me know what you guys think and enjoy!

Recording Drums for Abram Dean

Now that I finally am back from the NAMM convention in Anaheim and playing a concert with Cameron Mitchell in Knoxville, TN… I am back to the swing of things (aka recording every day). Today I got back in the groove of things by beginning to record drums for [Abram Dean] on one of his new tracks. His friend Bryan Johnson came in to record drums for the next song and he SLAYS the drumset. He’s truly a studio drummer and after only two or three takes, we had what we needed to have killer sounding drums. I ended up setting up 12 microphones throughout the bedroom.. including 2 in a bathtub, 2 random mics in the room.. and then spot micing every piece of the kit including hat and ride. I had fun getting to sit back and relax while recording drums this time instead of being the drummer and the engineer. The recording of the drums in the video below are just the raw unedited drum tracks. No EQ or anything has been added. You are simply hearing the microphones as they are.So I just thought i’d post this video and just keep everyone updated with what’s going on!
