The past few months I have been recording Abram Dean & Litt Odom non stop and the wait to hear some new music is finally over. They have been some of the busiest months in my life.. but I have enjoyed them for sure and I believe we got some great music out of it. Go check them both out on iTunes and let me know what you think! I went ahead and posted a couple of the new songs below from soundcloud. Enjoy!
P.S. – I also just back from the NAMM Conference 2012 in Anaheim, CA and had a great time. I will be posting some photos in the next few days from some shows that took place while I was there.
For anyone who doesn’t keep up with me on twitter or my facebook page, just thought I would post up some of my guitar refinishes. There is a lot of time that goes into making these guitars look as good as possible and lots of attention to detail. A take someone’s already finished guitar (like a squier or fender) and then strip the paint off of it and completely refinish it from scratch. It involves a lot of expensive gear that luckily my dad owned a lot of and a bunch of patience. But I enjoy it and have decided to make it a side business. So if anyone needs a guitar refinished or relic’d, please let me know! So far, all of the guitars I have refinished were for clients that wanted them to look old and relic’d like they’re old guitars from the 60′s or 70′s. So check em out!
For those of you that haven’t already seen them, go on over to the [Official Nerd Herd Store] and pick up yourself a Cameron Mitchell t-shirt! They are expensive for both you and us.. but they are American Apparel brand and feel really nice. Very high quality shirts that are comfortable to wear.. and of course look good too. So go pick one up! And stay in tune for a new album I have been working on with [Litt Odom] to be released soon. It’s sounding great and I’ve been spending a lot of time mixing lately. I might even try to do some tutorial videos sometime on mixing and recording. Hope everyone’s been doing good!
Over the past couple months, I have had the privilege of working with a talented new artist, [Litt Odom] (go support his Facebook page), who came to me looking for a producer. He’s got a killer voice and a real good ability to write some catchy songs. We’ve been working on an EP for a few months now and he will be releasing it sometime later this month once I have had the chance to get all the songs mixed. The other day, when he was over recording some final touches for his EP, Me, Litt, and Cameron Mitchell were hanging out and I had gotten a couple new microphones so I figured we could do a simple live setup music video. I figured it would be best to just setup a few mics and just do a one shot take of him covering a song on our amazingly not in tune crazy yellow colored piano downstairs in our living room. We ended up moving all my recording gear down there.. and in 2 takes, Litt had already gotten this take. This video is 100% live and all the audio you’re hearing came from the mics you see the in video with no correction at all. This kid’s got pipes and is so easy to work with. I’ve enjoyed working with him.. so check out this most recent video we did and be looking for his EP to come out soon!
So it’s been a long while since my last post because I have been so busy recording and producing lately I haven’t hardly had a chance to breathe. But I thought I’d just make a quick post letting everyone know about a video I shot a couple days ago of Cameron Mitchell. We posted it less than 48 hours ago and the video already has over 55,000 views. It’s truly surreal and hard to imagine that the work I put into making the recordings sound great and the video’s look good gets that much appreciation. It just doesn’t even seem real sometimes when I see all those views.. but thanks to everyone who has watched it and complimented my video and recording work! It means a ton every time I hear it. But anyway, we recorded this video 3 days ago in my living room. And it’s funny because in the background of half of these shots, I am either opening soda cans, talking with my brother, or some other noisy activity that the viewer would never have any idea was going on while the video was shot. Some of the behind the scenes stuff is really funny and hopefully I can find time to put together a video showcasing some of that and out takes soon. I hope you guys all enjoy this! And keep on the look out because we’ve been working on a couple covers, some new originals, and more videos. Everyone have an extremely MERRY CHRISTMAS! And I will hopefully post some more posts soon and maybe do some behind the scenes/out takes videos I can solely share here on my blog. Thanks for everyone that follows me and my work! Enjoy this latest video!
And here’s some quick shots of our recording setup in my garage for another cover we have been working on

Stephanie Moss -I think you did an incredible job recording Cameron. Your work just gets better and better! I noticed that you had several different light sources to work from, and while I am definitely NO expert on videography, it amazed me that you were able to work with the tiny lights from the tree, the fireplace blaze, and the lighting in the room and yet it all worked so well. And the water!! I don’t know how you did it, but the way you filmed it made me believe I could just stick my hand into the screen and feel its flow! I think you are amazing.
It fun to hear about all the “behind the scenes” noises because I often wondered about how you can filter all that out! Like I said, I am NOT an expert, but I can spot GENIUS pretty well!
